Teachings on the Practice of Mind Training (Lojong)
This is how Sangngak Rinpoche commented on the teachings of this cycle:
"For the path of spiritual seeking to lead to Liberation, a strong foundation must be laid. For this purpose, the practice of mind transformation – 'Lojong' – is performed. As for the stages of this practice, there are two: first, the performance of the common preliminary practices (thunmong ngondro), and finally, the performance of the special preliminary practices (thunmin ngondro). All of them are connected with the three principal aspirations – renunciation, bodhichitta, and the realization of emptiness – which together form the core of Dharma practice.
Such a gradual mastery of the very essence of the practice grants invulnerability to obstacles, completes the accumulation of merit and wisdom, breathes meaning into this precious human birth obtained just once, leads along the path of unfading happiness, and brings about other unimaginable benefits and perfections."
